The Golf Drama for Obama Family

President Obama’s low-key vacation in Hawaii didn’t remain so low-key when he rushed back to his rented residence on Monday during a game of golf. President Obama was playing golf with his friends from Chicago when his game was interrupted when he learned that a friend’s child has got injured. President Obama rushed back to his residence on his motorcade. Ana ambulance arrived at Obama’s residence and left the place with lights on. It is reported that the child received minor injuries while playing on beach and didn’t need stitches. The child belonged to Eric and Cheryl Whitaker who are friends of Obamas. The sudden interruption caused concern among his friends (needless, to say among the news reporters as well). However, Mr. Obama returned to the golf course after a short delay.

President Obama’s Vacation in Hawaii

President Obama is enjoying a quality family time at his vacation spot in Hawaii. But he didn’t really have a vacation. He visited the Marine Corps Base located at the Kaneohe Bay in Hawaii and addressed the nation about the attempted attack on the Northwest Airlines plane in US city of Detroit.

His other activities were more family oriented. President Obama visited Kailua Racquet Club, a 72-year-old club of Hawaii. He spent his Christmas Eve by playing golf and watching waves on Pyramid Rock while his children were treated to shave-ice at Island Snow. His motorcade also passed the Kapiolani Medical Center of Hawaii and Baskin-Robbins – two important places of his childhood and teen age days. The Obamas had dinner at a public restaurant in Hawaii. Security barriers were installed but the restaurant owner says that it didn’t cause any inconvenience to other dinners.

Janet Napolitano mentioned that there was no evidence of wider terrorist attacks found in the case of Umar Farouk Abdul Mutallab. The Homeland Security Secretary while on CNN’s State of the Union, Janet Napolitano added that Umar’s claim of being an Al Qaeda activist are taken into account for the investigation that are going on.

Janet Napolitano however added that it would be improper to guess about such ties. At the question of Umar’s being lone wolf, Janet Napolitano replied that they have found no indication of this incident being a part of some kind of larger plan but investigations are underway.

On the question of Umar being not in the no-fly database and in the wake of his father’s warning to American Consulate in Nigeria. Janet Napolitano replied that specific and most reliable information is required to bar some one to air travels. Umar was on a general list that includes millions other, but there was no derogatory information that could cause him up in the list.

Janet Napolitano suggested the revision of those no-fly lists and federal officials will be looking into these lists after this incident. Umar’s name was included in the list in last November.

The Terrorist Identities Data mart Environment (TIDE) has data of around 500,000 people and T.S.D.B, a sub set of TIDE includes around 400,000 people and from these 400,000 people less than 4000 are on no-fly list.

Janet Ann Napolitano is the first female to become the Secretary of Homeland Security. Janet Napolitano assumed her office in January 2009. She was governor of Arizona when she was designated for the post by President Barack Obama.

Snow Storms in various U.S. states are worsening the weather conditions. Latest news about fatalities are from Arkansas where two died in road accidents.

Major Winter Storms Hit American States

Americans are most likely to have a white Christmas this year as a major snow storm is lumbering across several states of the country. Due to slick roads travelers are crawling along the streets and highways while the snowy weather conditions bring headache for the residents during the holidays. Extremely cold weather, poor road conditions, power outages, and cancelled flights are bringing ordeal to the people.

Arkansas Weather Conditions and Road Preparation

The worst winter storm is expected to hit Arkansas and other states on Thursday and on the Christmas day. In the wake of storm warnings, Arkansas transport department crew is preparing the roads for snowy weather conditions. The crew is busy in spreading sand and salt on the roads to avoid slippery conditions. Thursday was supposed to be a holiday for these Arkansas state workers but the snow storms have forced them to appear at their work places. Arkansas District Engineer, Joe Shipman, says that the roads are being prepared for the anticipated snowy weather condition as more traffic is expected to hit the streets during holidays than normal. He says the drivers need to drive carefully despite all the work his crew is carrying out to improve the road conditions.

Snowy Weather Conditions, Dangerous Roads, and Accidents

Snowy weather conditions have forced airlines to cancel their flights while dangerous, slick roads have caused multiple accidents. At least three road mishaps occurred in Nebraska, two in Kansas, and one in New Mexico. In another accident, the slippery road conditions have caused two deaths on Tuesday night. The two decedents belonged to Arkansas state and were traveling on Interstate 70 when their vehicle slipped off from the road and the driver lost the control.

California officials issue orders to remove Christmas Angels after a complaint filed by a local resident Irv Sutley.

Irv Sutley filed a complaint with Sonoma County officials, in which he asked the government to remove Christmas Angels, stars, and other ornaments from government buildings all over the county. Irv Sutley, a 65-year-old Marine veteran, believes that the religious ornaments should not be displayed on government buildings as it is against the Constitution.

Irv Sutley, a former warehouse and an atheist, first noticed the Christmas Angels and stars on a Christmas tree in a government building in the north region of Sonoma County. He went inside the office and asked the officials to remove them. Irv Sutley says that the star on the top of a tree is a cult symbol and it represents the Christian cult. Sutley says that the government should remain ‘neutral’ on religion and there should not be any display of religious ornaments on state buildings. He also criticizes prayers in government meetings.

The Sonoma County officials consulted a constitution expert to discuss the complaint filed by Sutley. The County administrator, Chris Thomas, announced their decision on the matter on Monday and asked the county officials to remove stars and angels from the trees. He referred to the 1989 legislation passed by U.S. Supreme Court which stated that Christmas trees, which are otherwise seen as secular, could be seen religious if decorated with religious ornaments and symbols.

This order must have pleased Irv Sutley who does not object to trees as in his opinion Christmas trees are not related to the beliefs of Christianity.

Other residents of Santa Rosa mostly commented about Mr. Sutley’s concerns and the county’s decision in a jokingly manner. A reader of Santa Rosa Press Democrat says,’ I hope a reindeer runs Irv Sutley over.’

As the news hit the internet that Brittany Murphy is in hospital – dying, many rumors gripped the fans, like she was a drug addict and was struggling with eating disorders. She was just 32 and her roles in many films would be remembered for her looks and her acting skills. Unfortunately doctors at Cedar Sinai hospital were not able to revive her from her unconscious state. She was found in a comma in the shower.

A neighbor described paramedics taking her body out on a stretcher and performing CPR but she viewed that her body was already looking like she has passed. The sources have revealed that Brittany Murphy was suffering from diabetes type 2 which made her take a lot of medicines. Her sudden weight loss can also be due to the disease, which people mistakenly blamed to her cocaine habit. Brittany Murphy had denied the rumors that she was a drug addict. It is reported that in the recent days she was also suffering from flu and was vomiting profusely. Even when her body was discovered, she had vomited in the bathroom.

Her husband is seen going the Cedar Sinai and then returning without Brittany Murphy! Initially Brittany Murphy’s husband said that the body of his wife should not be autopsied but coroner viewed that the autopsy would help to pin point the exact cause of the death.

Autopsy would also silence all the rumors that she has died as a result of drug abuse.
