California officials issue orders to remove Christmas Angels after a complaint filed by a local resident Irv Sutley.

Irv Sutley filed a complaint with Sonoma County officials, in which he asked the government to remove Christmas Angels, stars, and other ornaments from government buildings all over the county. Irv Sutley, a 65-year-old Marine veteran, believes that the religious ornaments should not be displayed on government buildings as it is against the Constitution.

Irv Sutley, a former warehouse and an atheist, first noticed the Christmas Angels and stars on a Christmas tree in a government building in the north region of Sonoma County. He went inside the office and asked the officials to remove them. Irv Sutley says that the star on the top of a tree is a cult symbol and it represents the Christian cult. Sutley says that the government should remain ‘neutral’ on religion and there should not be any display of religious ornaments on state buildings. He also criticizes prayers in government meetings.

The Sonoma County officials consulted a constitution expert to discuss the complaint filed by Sutley. The County administrator, Chris Thomas, announced their decision on the matter on Monday and asked the county officials to remove stars and angels from the trees. He referred to the 1989 legislation passed by U.S. Supreme Court which stated that Christmas trees, which are otherwise seen as secular, could be seen religious if decorated with religious ornaments and symbols.

This order must have pleased Irv Sutley who does not object to trees as in his opinion Christmas trees are not related to the beliefs of Christianity.

Other residents of Santa Rosa mostly commented about Mr. Sutley’s concerns and the county’s decision in a jokingly manner. A reader of Santa Rosa Press Democrat says,’ I hope a reindeer runs Irv Sutley over.’

Many people around the world have a terrible fear of a Friday that falls on13th. Psychologists have named this fear Paraskavedekatriaphobia. Those people who suffer with the fear of Fridays that falls on 13th are called the sufferers of Paraskavedekatriaphobia by the psychologists. Paraskavedekatriaphobia has been derived from two Greek words Paraskevi and dekatries meaning Friday and thirteen respectively. The word was derived in 1911 and it was first published in 1953 in a mainstream communication medium.

Many people around have the fear of Friday which falling on 13th. They believe that a Friday which has the date 13 would bring them bad luck. This fear and the phobia have a history too. According to a folk story which has been passed from generation to generation through oral traditions, the fear and the superstition is a merger of two old superstitions. According to these theorists, Paraskavedekatriaphobia is fear which has developed due to the superstitious belief that since 13 is an unlucky number and Friday is an unlucky day so every Friday which has the date 13 will also be awfully unlucky.

But does Paraskavedekatriaphobia have any social impact? Yes, it does. According to the Stress Management Center and Phobia Institute in North Carolina, almost 17 to 21 million people in United States are suffering from this fear and hence as a result the businesses in America suffers as people do not travel or do corporate deals on the Fridays which falls on 13th. Donald Dossey of the Phobia institute told that estimates of $800 – $900 million are lost in business.

How to get away from Paraskavedekatriaphobia?

Donald Dossey says that we should focus on the positive things which happened on such Fridays instead of looking back on bad things and getting afraid of them.

Calvert County Public Schools have been closed and all other activities on 12th November 2009 in the evening have been cancelled due to stormy climate. Further announcements will be made keeping in view the weather conditions at night and tomorrow morning. In case no further announcements are made, the schools and other activities would open on schedule.

The National Weather Service has declared the warning for flood in the area of Calvert and St. Mary’s Counties. The wind speed is at its peak and being observed closely by the National Weather Service in all three counties. Charles County has already been monitored for flood due to heavy rain.

The Flood warning has been issued by the National Weather Service, remaining in effect till midnight Thursday. The area is supposed to be out of danger in the morning. The heavy rains with speedy winds have been noticed on radar near Delmarva Peninsula and Chesapeake Bay.

The Flood warning is to inform all the related organizations to prepare the precautionary measures. The heavy rainfall has been forecasted in Calvert County around 6:00 pm which can result in the flooding.

The areas which are expected to be affected by the rainfall and flood are Sheridan Point, Calvert Cliffs, Plum Point, Prince Frederick, Dunkirk, Saint Leonard Creek and few others.

The National Weather Service radar monitors were showing some serious forecast for the rain and wind which forced them to take precautionary measures by issuing flood warning to avoid damages.

Sabrina Bryan is back on Dancing with the Stars.

Sabrina Bryan is one of those dance performers at ABC’s hit dancing competition ‘Dancing with the Stars’ who are getting large number of votes from her fans. Monday’s show saw her comeback in the competition as she was eliminated by the judges in the 6th week of season 5 of the show.

You may be wondering why she’s back when she has already been eliminated? The show managers gave an opportunity to the fans to choose one of the former contestants who were eliminated from the show and the fans’ choice was Sabrina Bryan and Mark Ballas Jr. The fans also voted “Eyes of the Tigers” as the theme music for these former contestants to perform on. “Eyes of the Tigers” is a 1982 hit by the Survivors.

Sabrina n Bryan was voted out in the 5th season but she was one of the most favorite dancers of the show’s fans. She performed an Italian classic Pasa Doble in the show and made the judges awe by her terrific dancing skills.

Sabrina performed the ballroom dance with her boyfriend Mark Ballas and scored highest marks from the judges i.e. 30/30. But the later episodes of the fifth season saw her performance becoming less than average hence the duo was eliminated.

As the ninth season of the show is being winding up, the show fans voted for Sabrina Bryan and brought the talented artist back on the dancing stage. Sabrina performed the Pasa Doble again on the song chosen by the fans. Talking to media Sabrina said that she was ‘extremely honored’ by this selection and that she and her team has worked really hard. She also said that she was as nervous as she was on the first time at the show.

And the latest in the series is Jennifer Lopez Honeymoon tape. Reportedly Ojani Noa filmed “How I Married Jennifer Lopez: The JLo and Ojani Noa Story” and wanted to release it. The goddess did not like that to happen and has again obtained a restraining order against the tape.

There are many sections of the tape that may have hurt Jennifer Lopez’ ego. First the tape shows Lopez quarrelling with her mother, then roaming around in a skimpy dress. What is she afraid of?

Flu Shot Finder

Google has launched online Flu Shot Finder. Internet is the cheapest medium to communicate your message. Internet is increasingly becoming the best medium to launch your products and businesses and is one of the fastest and most effective ways to interact and communicate with masses- -Google not only knows this fact but it also acknowledges it. It is probably one of the reasons why Google is still ruling the internet market. Recently, Google launched Flu Shot Finder –another incredible service to help masses.

Google announced the launch of Flu Shot Finder on Tuesday. The service would help the users to find information about the location of health centers in U.S which are providing Flu vaccines. The users would be able to search the nearby locations where H1N1 and other seasonal flu shots are available. Google previously launched a service which updated the users about flu-infection levels in different areas of United States of America. The service titled Google Flu Trends is now available in 16 more countries and provides information about the infection levels of influenza in many countries worldwide. Recently included countries are Japan and Russia. A large part of Europe is also covered by the service. The service, which could be availed through www.google.com/flutrends, is now available in 37 languages.

Google Flu-Shot Finder is in its initial stages. Comparatively a recent service, Google Flu-shot-Finder does not contain information about every vaccine center. Talking about the service, Jennifer Haroon and Roni Zeiger wrote in a blog post that Google is working on collecting the data and the information available through Google Flu-shot Finder is not comprehensive yet. Another shortcoming of the service is its incapability to update the information about available vaccines. The service does not give updates whether vaccine shots are finished or still available as many vaccine centers do not have as many vaccines as is required to cater the people of that area. Hence it is advised that a user calls the vaccine center before heading towards it for getting a vaccine shot.

The flu-shot finder service could be availed by logging onto www.google.com/flushot. The service will soon be made available on the official government portal www.flu.gov.
