Pop & rock music group, the Cobra Star-ship performed with the past main vocalist of the group, the Pussy-cat Dolls, N. Scherzinger at the thirty sixth yearly Peoples’ Choice Music Awards.

American Music Awards cannot be more unpredictable then this, Gloriana, the local Nashville’s Band was declared as the winner of Breakthrough artist of the year leaving behind Lady Gaga, the internationally recognized and famous pop-singer. It was more then shocking for the Lady Gaga and its fans.

Gloriana, the band organized by two brothers Tom Gossin and Michael Gossin from New Hartford in 2007, the band moved to Nashville and joined by Rachel Reinert and Cheyenna Kimball.

Before the announcements of the results, everyone was confident about the Lady Gaga’s victory but the fans thought otherwise and Gloriana declared as winners for Breakthrough artist of the year.

Well, there was someone else behind the success of Gloriana, Guess Who? It was none other than Taylor Swift.

The most successful artist of the year on American Music Awards, she was the star who decided to choose the band Gloriana to launch at her tour, that turned the game around for Gloriana and they were on the roll,

AMA awards Ceremony was rocking last night, the Taylor and Michael Jackson were clearly dominating as Michael won 4 out of 5 and Taylor Swift secured 5 out of 6 nominations.

The fans of Michael Jackson once again showed their blind love and affection for Jackson and it was simply turned into Michael Jackson’s Show. It just looked like Michael was somewhere sitting on the show.

Lady Gaga is shaking the world now. She is being viewed as the most popular pop star of the decade. Her second album “The Fame Monster” is laying a solid base for her top position in the music arena. In American Music Awards, she showed mind blowing performance, as was expected, with her two new songs “Speechless” and “Bad Romance”. She proved her electrifying worth as an oracle of her future endeavors full of innovation and excellence.

Her performance on the show was stunning. During her performance she wore almost no costumes and comprised the one with her flesh and bones. The second performance was not much different but smoke acted as a costume for her. A violinist confined in a glass cube and a piano with broken bottle added color to her song’s theme. The songs had no less ingredients required to make a sound track. Her excellent performance provides a glance in to her effort and obsessive state of mind showing how painstakingly she is working on to be a world class singer.

She appears on every main event to enhance her visibility among the recent-day technological era where people forget a performer within no time. She takes part in every talk show, award ceremony at any place in the world to grab the global attention. Her proactive and dynamic effort to make her a universal figure is not a futile exercise and she has started to be the focal point of music lovers and it is difficult for anyone to forget her performances.

First Academy Awards that held the honorary and career awards for the first time on Sunday and awards were given to legends like Lauren Bacall, John Calley, Roger Corman, and Gordon Willis.

The Governors Awards were held for the first time and will now be announced annually to bestow honor on the worthy of the Hollywood. The ceremony held at a huge banquet hall located near the venue of the actual Academy Awards, the Kodak Theater. The ceremony lasted for almost 3 hours and 18 minutes, the duration which is a bit longer than the Oscars broadcast. There was no television coverage and the press presence was quite less than the usual. The award ceremony looked almost like a semi-private dinner where even the guest spoke modest and more sober words at the time of award acceptance.

Among the award winners, Lauren Bacall and John Calley gave the most emotional award-acceptance speeches. John Calley spoke to the audience through a video screen as he couldn’t attend the ceremony because of his illness. He made poignant remarks in his address. John Calley received an Academy Award for his work as an executive and producer. Speaking of his life as an executive Calley remarked that the life of an executive is not joyful and that ‘At the end, you experience relief, if you’re lucky.’ His comments were surely the most poignant ones.

Lauren Bacall received her Oscar statuette with great joy and immense pleasure and remarked jokingly that it’s been 60 years since her debut performance at the screen and that she’s happy that she’s still alive. ‘Some of you are surprised, aren’t you?’ said Ms. Bacall in a light manner. Upon receiving the award she remarked that she was extremely happy to take a ‘two legged man’ to her home, ‘I can’t believe it!’

Lauren Bacall was one of the screen goddesses of 1940s and 1950s era. She debuted in ‘To Have or Have Not’. She made her debut against a film hero who then became his real-life hero and husband too. In her remarks she paid a tribute to her husband Humphrey Bogart and said, ‘He gave me a life and changed my life’.

Other nominees of the Oscars will receive their awards in the regular event of Academy Awards in March 2010.
