Pulmonary congestion

Eighties heart-throb and rehab recidivist Corey Haim had an enlarged heart, pulmonary congestion and water in his lungs when he collapsed and died early Wednesday, his mother told Access Hollywood.

The devastated mom said a Los Angeles County Coroner official called with the report after an autopsy was performed Thursday.

The news followed revelations that the admitted addict, 38, had prescriptions for Valium, Vicodin and a muscle relaxant in the Burbank apartment he shared with his mom.

“No final cause of death has yet been established. We still have outstanding tests we are waiting for,” Chief Coroner Investigator Craig Harvey said late Thursday.

Harvey declined to confirm any autopsy findings, but Haim’s agent told the News his client confided that he knew he had a heart condition.

“He told me he had a skip in his heart, nothing major,” Haim’s manager Mark Heaslip said.

Heaslip said it’s possible the heart condition played a role in Haim’s death and reiterated doubts that Haim was back in the grip of deadly addiction.

He said Haim had weaned himself from serious pill-popping and was working with a new addiction specialist.

He believes the four prescription bottles found in Haim’s apartment came from the new doctor.

A different source said three of the prescriptions were for the sedative Valium, the narcotic Vicodin and the muscle relaxant Soma.

The fourth prescription was the anti-psychotic drug haloperidol, according to TMZ.com.

“I truly hope it wasn’t an overdose,” Heaslip said. “But (Corey Haim) wasn’t a doctor. If someone is giving him the wrong prescriptions, it’s the doctor who should know better.”

He said Haim had seen the new doctor only once in recent weeks as part of a plan to stay healthy and sober for a string of leading film roles he’d accepted. Heaslip said Haim’s sobriety was a condition of their one and a half year working relationship, and the actor demanded sober sets to stay on the straight and narrow.

The Canadian-born actor starred in ’80’s hits “Lucas” and “The Lost Boys” but was known more recently for the A&E reality show “The Two Coreys” about his friendship with fellow former teen idol Corey Feldman.

Sources said Haim had been suffering flu-like symptoms in the days leading up to his untimely death.

He’d been running a fever of 99 to 101 degrees and complained of shortness of breath shortly before he dropped to his knees in his bedroom and became unresponsive, Heaslip said.

Haim’s mom Judy Haim worried that paramedics took too long to respond to the 911 call she placed at 12:53 a.m., Heaslip said.
She said it felt like responders took 20 minutes to arrive, he said. Officials refuted that claim.

“We were on scene with the first arriving paramedics within six minutes,” Los Angeles Fire Department Spokesman Steve Ruda told the News.

“She is very, very upset. They were extremely close,” Heaslip said, adding that Haim was helping her battle breast cancer.
“He supported her all the way through the chemo and radiation. He surprised her with a really nice wig. He really took good care of her,” the agent said.

Michael ‘Big Mike’ Lynche Makes Kara DioGuardi Cry On ‘American Idol’

LOS ANGELES — Michael “Big Mike” Lynche made Kara DioGuardi cry and turned the rest of the “American Idol” judges giddy with a moving performance of “This Woman’s Work.”

Lynche, a mountain of a guy who lives up to his nickname, performed last among the eight male semifinalists Wednesday and emerged as the star of the Fox TV show.

“You come out with an incredibly difficult song to sing, and you 100 percent nailed it,” said Simon Cowell. “Not just the best performance of the night, it was the best performance of all these live shows so far.”

The eight female semifinalists performed Tuesday, with the top six vote-getters from the men’s and women’s groups to be announced Thursday.

Lynche, 26, of Astoria, N.Y., moved impressively from a quiet falsetto start to a booming finale, but it was as much the story behind the song as his range that touched DioGuardi. Lynche’s wife had a baby girl while he was in Los Angeles making the cut for “Idol.”

“It’s amazing. You were amazing,” DioGuardi said. “It’s your life right now, it’s your respect for your wife, what you’ve gone through. … It brought me to tears.”

The other contestants, who may have been glad they didn’t have to follow Lynche, picked up a mixture of praise and criticism.

Andrew Garcia, 24, Moreno Valley, Calif., had the roughest night, with his performance of “Genie in a Bottle” deemed pitchy by Jackson and dismissed by Cowell as “a little bit desperate.”

Casey James, 27, of Fort Worth, Texas, did better with “You’ll Think of Me,” which Ellen DeGeneres and Cowell said sounded “great” but struck Jackson as a safe choice.Tim Urban scored with his version of “Hallelujah,” which is becoming an “American Idol” standard.

DeGeneres, noting she has been critical of the 20-year-old from Duncanville, Texas, jumped on the stage to give him a congratulatory hug and called his rendition “fantastic.”

“Todrick’s back!” was Jackson’s response to Todrick Hall’s performance of “Somebody to Love,” while Cowell said it was a mixed performance but may have saved Hall, 24, of Arlington, Texas, from elimination.

Alex Lambert’s version of “Trouble” drew mostly favorable critiques, including a highly creative offering from DeGeneres.

“You’re becoming a mushy banana. You’re ripening so fast,” she said. Translation: The 19-year-old from North Richland Hills, Texas, is getting better and better.

Aaron Kelley, with “I’m Already There,” showed he has the “makings of a great,” Jackson said, and Cowell lauded his emotional delivery – while dismissing DioGuardi’s contention the song about a man away from his family was too old for the 16-year-old from Sonestown, Pa.

Lee Dewyze, 23, of Mount Prospect, Ill., showed “there’s a star bubbling there” with his version of “Fireflies,” said DioGuardi, while Cowell said he was better than the performance but had a “great chance” of making the top 12.

If not, DeGeneres could set him up on a date as a consolation prize: She’s heard from several people with crushes on him, she said.

Rachael Harris

Rachael Harris :“Promotion does help in writing the success story of a movie” I agreed the old saying a couple of days back when Rachael Harris visited Good Day to talk about “Diary of a Wimpy Kid”.

Reportedly Rachael Harris, born in Worthington, Ohio, is an actress and comedian by profession. Now days, after her key role in the 2009 comedy blockbuster “The Hangover,” she can be seen promoting her new movie called “Diary of Wimpy Kid”.

In past she had played some memorable roles in movies like Star Trek: Voyager in 1997. She was best known for her spontaneous comedy skills. She had also hosted some famous shows in past like The Daily Show’s 2002-2003 season, The West Wing, Monk and Curb Your Enthusiasm. And in November 2008 trough “Desperate Housewiv” she made her come back in the TV.

According to Rachel the movie “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” is about Greg Heffley and an endless chain of his never-failed plans, all of which he writes on his Dairy and the reason behind all ideas is that Greg is a boy who doesn’t like going to middle school.

He thinks it as the dumbest proposal ever invented by humans. That’s all she told but if you want to know more then you’ll have to watch the movie!

I have already seen it through promos and in my opinion, it will surly prove as another remarkable addition in her success list. What’s yours?
