The sheer intensity of her facial expressions the ups and downs of her inner feelings, just got stuck at some special place in my memory or should I say at some special place in my heart. My Best Friend’s Wedding won 11 awards and was nominated for 14 others. The figures alone are enough to tell the quality, film is. Julia Roberts’ life is turned upside down as she receives a call from her long term friend Dermot, telling her that he is getting married. Both have stuck a deal that if neither of them is married till 28th birthday, they would marry each other. Dermots’ planned marriage, makes Julia realize her love and intensity of feelings for her best friend. Julia is hell bent on getting the love of his life back. She plans several tricks to get Dermot off his would be bride – Cameron Diaz. She makes Cameron sing to get her humiliated, she pretends that she loves somebody to make Dermot jealous but all in vain. And then she is all set to reveal her feeling to Dermot but its too late. As Julia kisses her love, Dermot is unresponsive.

The biggest quality of My Best Friend’s Wedding is that viewer is made to think that the next moment would be the moment when Julia would get her love back but the moment never comes and instead the marriage takes place as planned.
