Her husband made an emergency call at about 8:00 in the morning. Brittany Murphy was rushed to the Cedars-Sinai Hospital. Emergency staff kept on performing CPR but as a neighbor puts it, she had already died. Her death was announced at 10:00 a.m.

Sources have reported that Brittany Murphy went into a comma while taking bath. Her family discovered her body in the bathroom.

An immediate investigation into her death started but police declared that they are not suspecting criminal activity.

Family has expressed their deep shock and requested media to let them cope with the loss.

As the details are still sketchy, it is being reported that Brittany Murphy was seriously ill before the present emergency situation.

Family sources have said that Brittany Murphy was suffering from Type 2 Diabetes. She had developed flu like symptoms recently and was vomiting profusely.

Reports also have it that she was taking various medicines partly to control her sugar levels. There is no confirmation as yet that she died for an overdose on the medications she was on. Her husband did not favor a post mortem on her dead body. However the official are said to be going ahead with the procedure.
