Gene Barry, the Bat Masterson actor, dies at 90.

Gene Barry, the actor who portrayed well-groomed lawmen, dies at the age of 90. He died in an assisted-living facility The Motion Picture Home in Woodland Hills, California on Wednesday. His death news was confirmed by his daughter Elizabeth.

Gene Barry was an American actor who was born in 1919 in New York City. His grandparents were Jews who migrated from Russia.

Gene Barry was born as Eugene Klass. He adopted Gene Barry as his professional name as a homage to the greatest actor of his era, John Barrymore. Gene Barry received training in violin and studied at Chatham Square School of Music for two years on a singing scholarship. He started his professional career by debuting at Broadway. His debut performance as an actor was in a Broadway production in 1942. In 1950, Gene Barry debuted as a television actor with NBC TV Opera Theatre. His first big screen appearance was in a film titled The Atomic City in 1952. He became a prominent film actor after

appearing in The War of the Worlds in 1953. Gene Barry made a cameo appearance in War of the Worlds of Steven Spielberg in 2005. Barry appeared along with Ann Robinson who was co-starred with Gene Barry in 1953 version of the film.

Gene Barry has appeared in many famous television series including Bat Masterson and Burke’s Law. He has won Golden Globe for his acting performance in Burke’s Law.

As an actor, Gene Barry has great love for theater and returned to Broadway several times during his acting career in television.
