Dan Quayle and Sarah Palin: A Comparison.

Despite all the dinners and addresses the Obama team is making, the general public cannot get their eyes off from Sarah Palin’s political activities. More recently, the polls have been run to estimate her chances to appear as a presidential candidate for the 2012 elections. A lot of political history analysts are comparing Sarah Palin with Dan Quayle.

Political scientist Brendan Nyhan from Michigan University analyses ’strong’ similarities between the general public’s doubts and reservations about Sarah Palin’s qualification as a presidential candidate with that of Dan Quayle’s.

Dan Quayle has served as the 44th Vice President of United Sates during the presidential era of George H. W Bush. He was a rep and as a senator from Indiana.

He was born to a rich family in Indianapolis, Indiana. Quayle’s grandfather founded the Central Newspaper Inc. which owned two of the state’s major newspapers. Dan Quayle received his bachelor’s in political science and joined the Indiana Army National Guard where he served as sergeant for more than six years. He later relieved his Juris Doctor degree from a law school.

Dan Quayle won the 1976 election for House of Representatives after defeating a major candidate and made a notable victory. During 1988 presidential election, George H. W Bush called him to be his running mate in the election. Many controversies were made and many raised doubts about his qualification for the presidential elections. Dan Quayle did not receive much acceptance and support from his own party members during the election campaign but eventually he won the seat of the vice president.

Now here’s contrast between Ms. Palin and Dan Quayle:

a. Both have doubtful qualification for the presidential seat.

b. Both have less support from their own part members.

Whether Sarah Palin would run for the 2012 presidential election and whether she will be able to garner the seat? Time will tell and till then we see where the road leads her.
