Bryant Gumbel speaks about his battle with cancer

Bryant Gumbel appears on ‘Live! With Regis & Kelly’ and surprises the viewers. Bryant Gumbel talked about his lung cancer.

According to the details, the sports TV journalist appeared on the morning talk show ‘Live! With Regis & Kelly’ to fill in for the show’s host Regis Philbin as a temporary assignment, and talks about his lung cancer. Bryant Gumbel was involved in a conversation with his co-anchorperson Kelly Ripa. They were chatting about Gumbel’s inability to dance. Gumbel tells her that he cannot dance because his doctor has advised him not to do so. He then admitted that there are very few people who know about his lung surgery. He further described how the surgeons performed the surgery and a part of his lung was removed. He further revealed that he has kept the surgery as a secret from many people and even the production crew at ‘Real Sports’ didn’t know about the surgery. ‘Real Sports’ is HBO’s sports programs hosted by Gumbel.

Bryant Gumbel told that he is improving now and will be meeting his medical advisor next week. He hopes that his treatment has been completed now and that he will get a ‘green signal’ now.

Regis Philbin would remain absent from the show because of his recent hip surgery.

Though it is the most preventable cancer, most of the cancer deaths are caused by Lung Cancer in America.

Bryant Gumbel is a well-known American Sports journalist who is best known for co-hosting NBC’s The Today’s Show. Gumbel has been awarded with four Emmy Awards and International Journalism Award including many others.
