Boeing 787 Dreamliner is ready to make his virgin test flight on Tuesday. This event was long-awaited by the purchasing parties and is set to materialize a dream in to reality. The plane suffered delay in its inauguration due to some technical reasons. There have been design-bugs, strikes which delayed its regular offer for sale. Boening Company has re-vitalized its hopes with the Dreamliner which has audacious claims of having fuel economy.

The claim by the company stimulated enormous demand for the Boeing 787 Dreamliner and it is for sure not being perceived by the purchasers as merely puffery. The initial demand of the plane comprises 840 orders from different countries of the world. Some purchasers cancelled the orders not due to some perceived flaw in the plane but out of distress and frustration.

The great demand of the Boeing 787 plane is due to its new “feather weight” design. The plane is made up of lighter weight materials like Carbon and titanium which has made it not only fuel-efficient but also low on maintenance costs. The design of the plane is made with the purpose of making it a “speedy flying object” which does not require refueling.

An aviation expert, Howard Wheeldon, gave an interview to BBC and told that the plane is a big step in the history of aviation. “This is an aircraft that changes the whole basis of flying, because of the equipment onboard” he told. Its competitor Airbus also has a similar “light weight project” in pipeline.
